Designing Effective Minimal Viable Products (MVPs) - Afternoon Workshop

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Minimal Viable Products (MVPs) are the focus of many agile projects, especially for founders following the Lean Startup model. But what exactly is an MVP and how do you use it strategically and effectively? More importantly, how do you design an MVP to engage your target customers rather than repel them? The approach of “Let’s just get something out there”, while popular, often fails to do the job. This workshop starts by exploring the MVP approach that many teams use, and why it often fails. You will learn the attributes of an effective MVP—a minimal, well-designed product that delivers real value to your users—while being realistic about what agile teams can actually deliver. The class will then break into teams and design an MVP for a mobile app using a fast-paced, step-by-step lean process. The process covers value propositions, determining critical hypotheses, validating hypotheses with meaningful metrics, scenario-based design, effective sketching and prototyping, and selling your designs to your managers and clients.
